A fun and revitalising week in which to discover the magical power of your voice combined
with yoga and meditation.
The workshop is designed to release blocks whether physically by improving breathing or
range of movement or emotionally by allowing inhibitions and long held mis-beliefs about
ourselves (such as "I can’t sing") to be released so that we can then open up to a new voice
and a new more whole and resonant sounding form of ourselves which in turn boosts self
confidence.
The yoga helps with relaxation, breathing, stretching, releasing toxins, calming, focusing. In
the voice workshops we will be laughing, humming, toning, chanting and singing affirmations
together. It is just wonderful to sing joyously in a group and connect to ourselves and to one
another. It's also a chance to tune in to ourselves and others for self healing and to offer
healing sounds to other group members.
Attendance at the workshops will be equivalent to the introduction to sound healing module of
the sound healing practitioner training that is offered with the College of Sound Healing. You
may come on this workshop just for your own enjoyment. You may then wish to take further
steps by undergoing the remainder of the full training available in the UK with me and other
tutors of the College throughout the UK www.collegeofsoundhealing.co.uk.
There
will be free time to sunbathe and enjoy the local scenery.
Sound
Healing is a simple and effective stand alone therapy which can also
complement
other healing/bodywork therapy.
Some
experience of yoga useful, no prior voicework necessary.
Fee:
£375 including tuition, accommodation and food (exluding flights and transfers)
Extra week at the centre without additional workshop - only £100
Subsidies for camping
Surcharge for single or double room
Non-participating partners welcome.

Yoga and Laughter Holiday, Dahab, Egypt
25 January to 1 February 2009 with Narayani and Julie Whitehead |
Julie and Narayani will share the teaching on this holiday as
they are both experienced yoga teachers and laughter yoga facilitators.
In laughter yoga you will connect with your inner spirit of laughter
and joy, boosting your immune system as well as increasing happiness
and confidence. Laughter meditation is an amazing experience releasing
happy hormones, and you are guaranteed to feel lighter and more relaxed.
In Narayani’s yoga sessions we will be focusing on the heart centre
and finding ways to open, expand and heal this chakra through posture,
breathwork, meditation, sound and silence. Anahata, the heart centre
is said to be the gateway to the higher consciousness so who knows
where this may lead, perhaps a little enlightenment?!
This week could change your life as you learn to open your heart and
connect with your inner joy. It is suitable for both beginners and
experienced practitioners alike.
Julie has practised yoga since the late 70’s and taught for the past
12 years She calls her style which has a strong Shivananda influence,
“Stressless Yoga”. In 2002 she discovered Laughter Yoga and became a
Laughter Leader Trainer and in 2004 co-founded the Laughter Network.
Julie believes both laughter and yoga are complimentary to good health,
developing a positive approach to life, and her work is a fusion of this.
Narayani has been practising yoga since 1991 and is primarily influenced
by the Satyananda tradition. Narayani creatively weaves awareness of
energy and breath together with sound (drawn from her experience as
a sound healer and tutor) into her classes whilst encouraging a process
of self discovery. This she does with a light touch often coloured with
humour where appropriate. |
There will also be the unique opportunity to:
• snorkel and dive in one of the most stunning coral reefs in the
world - 'try dives' are
available from the on-site diving school
• spend a night in the mountains on a yoga safari with the Bedouins
• go horse back riding in the deserts and mountains on well cared
for Arabian horses
• climb Mount Sinai and visit St Catherine’s Monastery
• experience dinner in the desert under the stars
